American Thoracic Society (ATS)

The American Thoracic Society (ATS) improves global health by advancing research, patient care, and public health in pulmonary disease, critical illness, and sleep disorders. Its membership consists of more than 16,000 physicians, research scientists, nurses, and other allied healthcare professionals. Founded in 1905 to combat tuberculosis, the ATS has expanded to include asthma, COPD, lung cancer, sepsis, acute respiratory distress, and sleep apnea, among other diseases. Three Lakes Foundation supported the creation of two videos as part of ATS’s unique online video series, "Helping the World to Breathe." The videos focus on the important work being executed by the University of Michigan and Yale School of Medicine. They to shine a light on some of the advances in innovation and improvements in lung health.
